Recognized the Need
Our visiting missionary who is a nurse recognized the skin infection and immediately knew how to treat it and started helping them.
After receiving Christ and being baptized the family received an audio Bible so they can begin to grow in their new faith. Our national missionary continues to disciple and minister to this family as they grow.
If your Jesus is anything like you . . .
Abiding Solutions had the opportunity help a family who was suffering from a skin infection. A visiting nurse missionary immediately recognized the problem and started treatment.
The entire family was bathed with special soap and treated with a topical medication. Then the family’s entire house was cleaned with bleach and anything that could harbor the bacteria was burned . . . blankets, cloths, mattresses, stuffed animals, etc.
Abiding Solutions replaced the items that had to be destroyed and also provided them with food and nutritional items for the children. Within two days the family’s skin began to heal. The family said, "If your Jesus is anything like you, then we want to know him."
We were able to share the hope and truth of Jesus with the family and both parents received Christ as their Lord and Savior and they were baptized.
The family received an audio Bible so they can begin to grow in their new faith and our indigenous missionaries continue to disciple and minister to this family as they grow in Christ.
Abiding Solutions has provided over 30 sewing machines over the last three years for uneducated and impoverished individuals to learn the vocation of tailoring to support their families.
Our indigenous missionaries carefully consider who will receive a sewing machine by seeking out those who are most likely to apply themselves to learn the skill of tailoring and be able to start earning money to support their families.
One woman told our missionaries, with tears in her eyes and a big smile on her face, “This sewing machine is a BIG blessing for my family! I am earning money and feeding my family!" Another lady told us again and again to say thank you to all those who have donated money to purchase the sewing machines.
It is an privilege to be able to assist people in receiving vocational training, but we are most honored to be able to also share Christ with these individuals and experience their fellowship as we worship the Lord and study the Bible together.
Bibles in Urdu
Abiding Solutions is able to purchase cases of Urdu Bibles in the native region and gives Bibles to people.
This gentleman told us he enjoys reading his Bible every day. He likes to study in both English and Urdu. We snapped this picture when he didn't know we were watching.
It's a blessing to see the faithfulness of other believers and it is a great privilege for us to be a part of their lives in a small way.
Just a few Stories . . .
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9
Audio Bibles in Urdu
For those who are not able to read or they cannot see well anymore to read, Abiding Solutions has been able to provide audio Bibles so they can still hear the words of the Lord. The woman lying on the bed fell off a flight of stairs in summer 2013 and broke her back, both arms, and hit her head so hard she had to have many stitches. It’s amazing that she survived her injuries.
She specifically asked if we could find her an audio Bible in her native language which is Pakistani Urdu. She was delighted when we arrived with an audio Bible. Although she is in a lot of pain and can’t get out of bed she has started a regular Bible listening group. Her bedroom serves as the meeting place and she is responsible to take special care of the audio Bible . . . to make sure it doesn’t get dusty and that it’s always charged and ready for listening.
She has been so happy to be able to listen to God’s Word in her native language during this physically painful time in her life. She is blessed to have friends and family care for her and come to visit . . . and now she can offer others a blessing by providing them the Words of Life in Pakistani Urdu.
